Our Story
Friedrich Huppach’s career began in the textile industry. This spanned a 23-year period which took him from Germany to Switzerland and Scotland, before settling down in the quaint town of Barnoldswick.
Fred’s hobby was jewellery making, which grew into a passion. This passion created a new career path for him. In 1978 Fred established Huppach Jewellers.
Over the years the business thrived and gained a reputation for excellent service and high-quality items. Fred’s range of manufacturing skills and high-quality workmanship catered for all customers’ needs. To this day these skills and qualities remain at the heart of what we do within our in-house workshop. Today the business is run by Fred’s son, Stefan, and grandson, Declan.
Meet The Team
Stefan has over 35 years’ experience gained previously from working in a jewellery manufacturing company based in Manchester. During this time he acquired an excellent reputation for his craftsmanship, diamond and gemstone mounting, alongside design and creativity skills. These attributes have made him a sought-after working jeweller, supplying independent jewellers as well as creating bespoke pieces for well-known clients.
Declan has been a regular visitor to the shop since birth, spending many hours beside his grandfather and father. He loved to experiment in the workshop, developing skills and knowledge from a young age. Little did he know he would become a goldsmith, developing the same passion for designing and creating jewellery as his grandfather and father. Declan has had an amazing start to his career thanks to the combined 75 years plus of family knowledge and skills being passed down.
Poppy is our retail assistant who offers a warm welcome. She has several years’ experience working in the shop, having joined us initially whilst still in education. She looks forward to providing you with knowledgeable advice and an enjoyable experience.
